Korosho Marathon is the product of the effort that the Government is making through the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania (CBT) to promote the development of Cashew production, processing, and marketing. It was established in March 2022 with the theme of encouraging local consumption and use of cashew products and by-products like jam, juice, cashew milk, wine, Ethanol, Cashewnut Shell Liquid (CNSL), and Apple meat that will automatically trigger the increase of local processing and have multiplier effects in the cashew business and economy of the country.  

 Korosho Marathon this year aims at raising funds to support groups of women in Southern regions in which 90% of them are involved in groups of cashew small scale processors. Incomes from Korosho Marathon will also help in improving educational facilities at Primary level in Southern regions.
